Refurbishment

The Powell & Co team can review older poultry sheds to assess whether they can be refurbished to further maximise its potential and lifespan.

Initially we will survey the building to ensure it’s structurally sound.  Assessments will be made on structural materials within the unit, to ascertain whether the roof or walls may contain asbestos, which will need a qualified team to remove it.

On completion of the survey we will a quotation, and drawings where required, for relevant work such as reroofing, replacement gable cladding, installation of new insulation, replacement side inlets and window installation for the purpose of efficient and economical poultry production.

Recent refurbishment projects include:

  • Extending length of poultry house
  • Change of ventilation system
  • Conversion to free range layer unit
  • Repairing shed entrances following catcher damage
  • Re-fitting new windows to conform with Red Tractor Assurance Scheme
  • Timber or steel cladding
