Steel Fabrication
Powell & Co fabricate the majority of steel structures to suit, and with the addition of our state of the art painting facility, this can add a great finishing touch in house.
All steel fabricated by Powell & Co is of the highest quality sourced from UK suppliers which include AJN Steelstock in Somerset and Steelstock Services in Wolverhampton.
Our experienced team use the latest CAD design software and 3D modelling to design steel components and structures, working closely with clients to meet their exact specifications. Computer aided equipment means that all our structures are built to the highest specification. It allows a seamless process between our expert design team right through to the steel fabrication.
Punching
Steel is cut to desired lengths using our CNC machines, although some cuts are carried out by hand.
Welding
Our expert team of welders will work on sections to be attached together using either TIG or MIG welding techniques.
Painting
Fabricated steel for painting is thoroughly cleaned, degreased, and rust removed to ensure proper adhesion of paint be it red, white, grey or a bespoke colour.
CNC Drilling
The CNC drilling features a direct drive high-speed 27kW drill head. In addition to drilling the machine can also mark and tap the plate for welding layout marking. Water-cooled welder machines and high-quality wire is used by the team for welding.
Cutting
State of the art CNC punching enables us to process steel plates to a maximum of 30mm thick. We guarantee processing accuracy and long term reliability. The punching line is equipped with three selectable punches having full force on the entire stroke. A self-adjustable clamping system keeps the plate in position avoiding stripping during punching.
Fully Accredited
We are fully UKCA accredited to execution class 2 and working closely with our local galvanising plant, this enables us to offer customers a galvanised finish as an option. We continually invest in people and equipment to meet required deadlines, whilst maintaining our high-quality control standards in this fast-moving sector.
