Refurbishment
The Powell & Co team can review older poultry sheds to assess whether they can be refurbished to further maximise its potential and lifespan.
Initially, we will survey the building to ensure it’s structurally sound. Assessments will be made on structural materials within the unit to ascertain whether the roof or walls may contain asbestos, which will need a qualified team to remove it.
On completion of the survey, we will provide a quotation, and drawings where required, for relevant work such as reroofing, replacement gable cladding, installation of new insulation, replacement side inlets and window installation for the purpose of efficient and economical poultry production.
Recent refurbishment projects include:
- Extending the length of the poultry house
- Change of ventilation system
- Conversion to a free-range layer unit
- Repairing shed entrances following catcher damage
- Re-fitting new windows to conform to the Red Tractor Assurance Scheme
- Timber or steel cladding
