Pullet Rearing

For future flock success, we lay the foundations from the initial design right through to finishing a unit that will rear pullets up to 15-17 weeks of age before being transferred to laying units.

At Powell & Co we understand that attention to detail is essential in pullet rearing, and it starts with with a high-quality unit.  We will work in partnership to plan the building schedule to ensure the deadline is met as we recognise the challenges and changes that can occur during a tight build schedule.

Working with leading suppliers we are experienced in ensuring everything is right within the pullet rearing unit from temperature and air quality to sufficient feeders and drinker to ensure plentiful supply to pullets.

Heating Systems

The right temperature is key at all stages of the pullet rearing schedule and we can provide options for heating.  Choose from conventional or biomass heating systems, each installed to provide precise control of both unit and litter temperatures. to accurately control the unit and litter temperature.

Controllable Lighting

Good poultry lighting is tailored to the type of poultry and the type of housing.  The systems installed will provide energy-efficient optimal lighting that can be closely controlled and adjusted throughout rearing to encourage chicks to eat, drink and mature.

Ventilation Systems

Effective poultry housing ventilation systems will be installed comprising of fans, inlets and controllers.  These systems will deliver excellent air quality to help control levels of carbon dioxide, moisture and temperature.

Cladding

To meet any planning regulations we offer a range of colours for steel sheet cladding.  This can be further complemented with timber cladding alongside steel sheeting creating an aesthetic finish for the surrounding environment.
